The Department Of Integrative Medicine is dedicated to offering clinical services pertaining to mental health and its disorders as well as research related to understanding the mechanisms and effect of Yoga Therapy in neuro-psychiatric disorders.

Patients referred to NICY are evaluated for the primary as well as associated complaints by the Psychiatrist/ Senior Scientific Officer/ Junior Scientific Officer and directed to the yoga therapist for providing appropriate yoga therapy module. Dr. B.N. Gangadhar, Professor of Psychiatry, was the officer-in-charge of the Centre before he became Director in early 2016. The staff is supervised by Professors of Psychiatry, Dr. Shivarama Varambally and Dr. G. Venkatasubramanian; Dr. Naren P. Rao, Additional Professor of Psychiatry; and Dr. Rashmi Arasappa, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry.
